Vaccinations can protect against these possibly life threatening illnesses:
- Feline Leukemia Virus (FELV): A form of cancer, which is usually fatal. This virus-causing deadly disease has symptoms such as weight loss, depression, anemia, fever, vomiting and decrease in energy. This can be detected by a simple blood test.
- Feline Respiratory Disease (Chlamydia, Rhinotracheitis & Calici Viruses): Air transportation can bring one of these diseases in contact with your cat and cause red eyes, stuffy nose, breathing problems, fever, sneezing or coughing.
- Distemper (Panleukopneia): Fever, loss of appetite, weakness, vomiting and diarrhea are signs that this very contagious and deadly virus is attacking the immune system and intestines of an unvaccinated cat.
- Rabies: Transmitted through saliva from biting, all warm-blooded animals are susceptible to this viral infection. Severe damage to the central nervous system often resulting in paralysis and death. There is no cure for this infection and vaccination is essential.
